Here we are again–watching Chris still, the intrigue a little thicker, even though it’s a long way away. Like Rob Perillo said this evening, we’re suffering from hurricane anxiety after last year. We need to be careful about jumping overboard before it’s really time. Nonetheless, the accuweather guys had this posted in their 8:00 pm writeup this evening:
Chris could begin to affect South Florida by Sunday. Even if the storm does not move directly over land, it will bring rough surf and increased thunderstorm activity to the southern half of the peninsula this weekend and into early next week. Expert Senior Meteorologist Dan Kottlowski says once it enters the Gulf of Mexico, Chris will likely track west-northwestward and could make landfall over the Gulf Coast of Texas Thursday. However, Kottlowski cautions Chris could turn to the north and could make landfall on the Louisiana Gulf Coast by Wednesday.
Oh, well. We shall see. I’ll continue to chronicle Chris in the days to come. We can live without this kind of excitement.
